A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to requiring the New York Police Department to consult with nonpublic schools on emergency preparedness

 

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:

Section 1.  Chapter 1 of title 14 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 14-181 to read as follows:  

§14-181 Emergency preparedness in nonpublic schools. The department shall consult with nonpublic schools relating to emergency preparedness and security protocols. Such consultation shall include notifying schools that the police department is available to conduct onsite evaluations of security protocols, examining facilities, providing written materials for best practices, and reviewing building safety plans upon request.

§ 2. This local law takes effect 120 days after it becomes law.
